Dr. Laila Carolina Abu Esba
Laila Carolina Abu Esba holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the University of Toronto, Canada, and a Master of Science (MSc) in Infectious Diseases from Södertörns University, Sweden. Her professional specialization is in Drug Information, Formulary Management, and Drug Safety, with over 15 years of experience leading these initiatives. Her current position is Clinical Pharmacist at the Drug & Poison Information Center, King Abdulaziz Medical City (since Aug 2014). She also holds the title of Co-Chair of the Corporate Drug Evaluation Committee. She is a Joint Appointment- Lecturer at the College of Pharmacy, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. Her research and education experience is extensive, including peer-reviewed publications on formulary decisions for biosimilars, managed entry agreements, drug prioritization criteria, and medication safety. She authored a chapter on "The Drug Evaluation Process: Clinical Evaluation" in a book. She also serves as a Preceptor for pharmacy residents in the Drug Information rotation.
